Sunday, September 9th is Grandparents’ Day and I couldn’t be happier! It’s THE RIDE here, and if you’re at all like me, you love your Grammy and PopPop to pieces. After all, no one else indulges us quite like they do! Ask for the last slice of chocolate cake and it’s yours. Beg for yet another story at bedtime and, yup, you’ll hear Goodnight Moon again even if it’s for the 50th time that night. Teenagers know that they can count on Grandma and Grandpa for a little extra cash when it’s needed most (often handed off surreptitiously so Mom and Dad can’t complain). Best of all, grandparents are always there with a sympathetic ear, a box of Kleenex, and a willingness to listen (even if they can’t always hear you!).
Of course they do have their quirks: a penchant for the early bird special at dinnertime (which often means any time after 4:30), an insistence on removing hats (and other headgear) indoors, a fondness for the phrase “back when I was young,” and an inordinate love of senior citizen discounts.
So as you plan to celebrate Grandparents’ Day this weekend (and I know you want to do something really grand to honor them!), why not show them that you’ve learned a thing or two from their example? Take them on THE RIDE—the one-of-a-kind, great for all ages, interactive entertainment experience where the streets of New York City are the stage and you’ve got front row seats—using the special senior citizen discount available through the call center (212-221-0853). You’ll be happy to treat them with tickets that are just $45 instead of the usual $74; they’ll be happy that their grandchild is so smart and so thoughtful. Grand indeed!
