Hey guys, it’s THE RIDE. Something you all might not know about me is that I’m totally obsessed with the British Royal Family, as well as a certain 14th century British playwright. My goodness, you should have seen me during the Royal Wedding. I was decked out with a sweet British flag paint job, had bangers and mash going on the grill, and of course I couldn’t stop the windshield washer jets from flowing. It was just so beautiful.
When Prince William and Kate Middleton came to New York City, I just couldn’t contain myself! Don’t get me wrong, being in New York City during the holiday season is nothing short of fantastic. Couple that with the Royal Family being in town and wow, I’m glad I live here. Although you might not be able to hang around in the same circles as the Royal Family when you visit New York City, you can still follow in their footsteps and get your quintessential city experience.

Kate Middleton and Prince William attended the 600th anniversary dinner of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Of course, they looked fantastic! While you probably won’t be invited to a dinner like that, you can still visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and look fantastic. You might just walk out as the next cubism expert. I’ve always been intrigued by cubism, though I think of myself more as rectangular.
Prince William and Kate Middleton also attended a Brooklyn Nets game and got to sit courtside. If you’re willing to pony up for courtside tickets, that’s totally doable. Just don’t expect the camera to put you on the big screen, I mean you look good, but you’re no Prince William. The wildest thing about that night was when LeBron James (King James) put his arm around Kate Middleton. I was like, “Oh, Em, Gee!” Everyone knows a commoner can’t touch a Royal! She didn’t seem too perplexed by it, but I’ll bet Queen Elizabeth had a few words for her when she got home.
Being the wonderful people they are, William and Kate also paid their respects at the National September 11th Memorial and Museum. It felt good to hear their words and know that they care about our nation. They also showed their support for The Door, a youth development organization.
There are too many things to do in one trip when you visit New York City, but the Royal Family sure did a great job for their first trip. Maybe next time they can hop on THE RIDE! If you’re not sure where to go or what to do for your New York City trip, don’t hesitate and book your tickets for THE RIDE.
