Halloo, it’s THE RIDE here, thinking about the foodies from all over the city (and beyond!) who consider NYC Restaurant Week one of their favorite New York summer events. Here’s why: eating out at New York City’s best dining establishments tops many people’s list of things to do in NYC, and the participating restaurants usually offer amazing deals as part of the promotion.
So what exactly is Restaurant Week? Well, it is a period of time (technically, this year it is more than a week—really almost a month—stretching from July 25 to August 19) when restaurants offer specially-created three-course menus priced at $29 for lunch and $42 for dinner. It offers diners a chance to try someplace new or return to an old favorite and taste the best that restaurant has to offer.
Wondering where to dine? THE RIDE’s list of partners offers a nice choice of places to go in NYC, including:
- Angus Club Steakhouse – classic steakhouse fare in an Art Deco-inspired setting
- Carmine’s – NYC’s legendary family-style Italian restaurant
- Sarge’s Delicatessen Restaurant – a quintessential Jewish-style delicatessen
The bottom line? I love Restaurant Week. I really do. And I can think of only one thing that would make it better. I think that everyone who takes advantage of this event should combine their meal with a jaunt on THE RIDE, thereby having the full experience of dinner (or lunch) and a show. Think of it: you have just had truly outstanding culinary experience. And then what? Go home and sit on the couch to watch TV? Catch up on a little paperwork? No! Better to extend the feeling of awesomeness with my one-of-a-kind interactive entertainment experience where the streets of New York City are the stage, and you’ve got front row seats. I highly recommend it!
