Hey there, it’s THE RIDE here and today I want to offer some DOs and some DON’Ts for visiting New York City. I love this place and I want you to enjoy the city as much as I do—and you will, if you just follow my advice! So here it is:
DO enjoy “only in New York” experiences. You came to the Big Apple for a reason, so be sure to visit the unique attractions that can only be found here in NYC.
DON’T bury your face in a map. There’s no need to show everyone around you that you’re from out of town by unfolding a huge map. Instead, look cool by discretely checking where you are using Google Maps on your smartphone.
DO take the subway. It’s the fastest and cheapest way to move around the city. Plan your trip using the MTA website, buy your MetroCard, and then head underground to travel around town like a real New Yorker.
DON’T block the sidewalk. New Yorkers generally walk at a brisk pace and nothing annoys the locals more than folks who slow them down. So try to keep up with the pace of the people around you. And above all, don’t make sudden stops, or try to walk with three or four people in a row.
DO enjoy NYC cuisine in all its forms. NY is known for having some of the top restaurants in the world, and I hope you’ll try at least one of them. But I also recommend you grab a slice of NYC’s best pizza and sample some of the tasty offerings from the city’s popular food trucks.
DON’T miss THE RIDE! This interactive entertainment experience, where the streets of New York City are the stage, and you’ve got front row seats, epitomizes all that’s great about NY. So grab your chance to explore the city in a completely new way. Just click here to learn more!
