NYC Off-Broadway Week takes place February 1-14 this year.  That means that for two weeks you’ll have the chance to see a wide variety of awesome shows with 2-for-1 ticket pricing.  Everything from crowd-pleasing classics like The Fantasticks, to multi-sensory hits like Blue Man Group, to the percussive dance extravaganza Stomp are part of this celebratory promotion.

Think that only Broadway shows are for you? Keep in mind that the Off-Broadway designation isn’t related to the quality of the performance, but refers to NYC theatrical venues which have a seating capacity between 100 and 499 and which conform to certain union requirements. As a result, you’ll find yourself in a more intimate setting (i.e. you are more likely to be closer to the action on the stage).  Filling a more modest space also means that Off-Broadway shows can work with a smaller budget, which leads to more adventurous offerings and the opportunity to see rising stars.
